In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, employees of Public Service Commission of Yazoo City proudly wore pink to show their support for those affected by breast cancer. The initiative reflects PSCYC’s ongoing commitment to community health, awareness, and solidarity with the women and families who face this disease every day.
Breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers among women in the United States. According to the American Cancer Society, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Early detection through regular screenings, mammograms, and self-examinations continues to be the most effective way to increase survival rates and improve outcomes.
By wearing pink, PSCYC employees joined millions across the nation in raising awareness and promoting the importance of education, prevention, and early detection. The show of unity also honors survivors, remembers those lost, and supports ongoing research for a cure.
Together, we wear pink to stand with the women in our lives, our coworkers, families, and friends—because awareness saves lives.
