YAZOO CITY, MS – The Public Service Commission of Yazoo City (PSCYC) recently hosted its first-ever Energy Efficiency and Water Conservation Workshop, providing customers with valuable insights on reducing utility costs and preparing for severe weather.
The workshop featured interactive stations from the Yazoo County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Get the Lead Out Initiative, offering information on local resources and lead prevention in drinking water.
PSCYC employees led discussions on ways to save on electric bills, conserve water at home, and prepare for storms, ensuring customers are equipped with practical strategies to improve efficiency and control their water consumption. Attendees also received an energy and water conservation kit filled with tools and resources to help implement these cost-saving measures.
"As the first workshop of its kind hosted by PSCYC, we are proud to provide our customers with the knowledge and resources needed to reduce energy and water usage while staying safe during extreme weather," said Dennis McFee, CEO/General Manager of PSCYC. “By working together, we can create a more sustainable and resilient community.”
